But wisdom is justified by all her children.
Luke 7:35
The world is full of “experts.” There are people everywhere who want to convince you of the wisdom of their opinion. Yet God says that it is not the one who declares his viewpoint the most loudly or vociferously who is the wisest, but the one who is vindicated over time.
Wisdom is not proven by argument or debate. Wisdom is proven over time. Some people adamantly proclaim that their opinion is best. Regardless of how convincingly these people defend their viewpoint, time is the best judge of their wisdom. The result of a practice proves its validity, not how loudly it is promoted. When you seek to obey what God has told you, you will sometimes meet resistance and criticism from others who disagree with the wisdom of your actions. Your immediate response may be the urge to vindicate yourself. However, if you wait patiently, time will reveal the wisdom of your actions far better than you could through argument.
Through the ages, the wisdom found in God’s Word has been tested and proven true. It is critical that you measure everything you hear against the Scriptures. Trends in psychology and philosophy come and go, but God’s Word is timeless. Whenever you share an opinion in counseling someone else, make sure that it comes from the Scripture and not merely from your best thinking. As long as you base your life choices on the Word of God, time will be your defender and will validate the wisdom of your choices. If, over time, you clearly see you are wrong, ask God’s forgiveness and seek a fresh word from God through the Scripture. Then obey that word and watch to see God confirm His wisdom in your life.

Reflective Questions:
🌱 Where in your life have you seen the long-term “children” (fruit) of your past choices—either confirming wisdom or exposing foolishness?
🌱 Are there areas right now where you feel pressure to defend your obedience to God against criticism or misunderstanding?
🌱 When you give advice or make decisions, do you lean more on your personal opinion or on the clear teaching and principles of Scripture?
Prayer Points
🌱 Ask your Heavenly Father to make you more sensitive to His wisdom than to the noise of human opinions.
🌱 Pray that the Father would give you patience to let time and fruit justify your obedience, instead of striving to defend yourself.
🌱 Ask the Father to help you anchor your counsel to others—and your decisions for yourself—firmly in His Word.
You do not need to win every argument, persuade every critic, or chase every new idea. Your call is to walk in the wisdom of God’s Word and let time reveal its beauty and strength.
When you base your life on Scripture, you may not always be understood in the moment. But as the years pass, the “children” of that wisdom—peace, steadfastness, and Christlike character—will stand as quiet, powerful testimony that God’s ways are best. And if you discover you’ve leaned on your own understanding instead of His, your Heavenly Father is ready to forgive, correct, and lead you again in paths of wisdom.
Trust His Word more than human noise. Let His wisdom shape your steps—and allow the fruit to speak for itself.
True wisdom does not shout to be noticed; it quietly proves itself through the fruit it produces over time.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your wisdom is pure, peaceable, and unchanging, even while the opinions of this world constantly shift. I confess that at times I have trusted my own thinking or the voices around me more than Your Word. Forgive me for every choice I have made that was shaped more by human wisdom than by Your truth.
Father, teach me to measure every idea, every plan, and every counsel against the standard of Scripture. When I face criticism or misunderstanding because I am trying to obey You, give me patience to let time and fruit justify Your wisdom rather than defending myself in my own strength.
Please make my life an example of what happens when a person builds on Your Word—bearing fruit that brings glory to You. And where I see, over time, that I have been wrong, give me humility to repent and to seek a fresh word from You. Lead me again in Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
